Polaris announced the 2027 RZR Pro R Boost on August 3, 2026, with a manufacturer-stated 275 hp from a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. The announcement describes two- and four-seat versions in Ultimate and Ultra trims and an expected dealer-shipping start in November 2026. An announced shipping month is not confirmation that a particular dealer has stock today.
This is a research-based buyer’s guide to the announced U.S. model, checked November 3, 2026. It is not a road test, dyno result or long-term durability report. The useful question is what a prospective buyer should verify before committing to a newly announced high-performance configuration.
What Polaris has actually announced
| Announcement item | What it supports | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Powertrain | Turbocharged 2.0-liter engine; 275 hp manufacturer figure | Wheel horsepower, measured top speed or a lap-time advantage |
| Configurations | Two- and four-seat; Ultimate and Ultra trims | Identical dimensions or equipment across all four builds |
| Cooling / drivetrain work | Manufacturer describes cooling, clutch and driveline changes | A measured failure rate or proof that previous issues cannot recur |
| Ultra equipment | DYNAMIX DVS and a 32-inch BFGoodrich tire package described in the release | The same equipment on every Ultimate model |
| Timing | Expected dealer shipping beginning November 2026 | Local inventory or a guaranteed handover date |

Why 275 hp is only one line of the buying decision
A manufacturer engine rating does not tell you how the vehicle behaves with your tires, elevation, temperature, fuel and load. It also does not state a safe operating speed for dunes, rocks or a familiar trail. We do not estimate an exact top speed from displacement or horsepower.
Write a use brief before asking whether this is enough power: legal riding area, typical surface, occupants, trip distance, storage and transport. If permitted routes or your trailer cannot accommodate the actual configuration, the power figure does not fix the mismatch. A smaller or different platform can be the more useful purchase.
Separate Ultimate and Ultra on the written quote
Ask for the full model code, seating configuration, shock system, tires, wheels, restraint equipment and included protection. Confirm the exact specifications for that build using its current product sheet and owner’s manual. Do not assume a photograph of an Ultra describes every Ultimate or that a four-seat package has the two-seat footprint.
Also separate factory equipment from dealer-installed accessories. Record installation labor, the effect on carrying capacity and any conditions attached to a particular accessory. A spare tire, communication equipment and recovery tools should be included in transport and load planning even if they arrive after vehicle delivery.
Questions about the announced cooling and driveline updates
Polaris describes changes intended to support the new powertrain, including clutch, cooling and driveline work. The practical follow-up is to obtain the matching maintenance and inspection procedures. Ask which filters, belt, fluids and service access steps apply to the full model code, and whether the dealer has the needed parts and training.
Do not carry a Pro XP, naturally aspirated Pro R or RZR XP belt procedure across because all are RZRs. The new vehicle’s manual and parts application control. If a seller offers maintenance advice based on an older platform, have the applicability checked before purchase or service.

Make the delivery promise reviewable
- Ask whether the unit is allocated, in transit or physically present. A launch announcement is not an allocation number.
- Get the expected handover date and any deposit conditions in writing. Review the complete purchase terms before paying.
- Request an itemized U.S. quote including the exact trim, freight, preparation, accessories and applicable taxes or fees. A headline MSRP is not the amount due.
- Confirm the owner’s manual, pre-delivery inspection, familiarization and service arrangements for the actual unit you will receive.
What to inspect when a vehicle becomes available
With the seller, verify identification and configuration against the quote. Check that restraints, doors, controls and warning labels are present and explained. Try the seat and pedal positions wearing your riding equipment. Measure the actual width and height with installed accessories and use an appropriately rated transport setup.
For a new platform, uncertainty is part of the decision. There is not yet a UTVAUTO long-term service record for this model. A buyer who needs a machine immediately for a planned trip should compare confirmed availability and support rather than treating an expected shipping month as a guarantee.
If you are still choosing among RZR families, start with the Pro XP versus Turbo R comparison and check each model’s exact scope. For hauling, use the trailer-fit worksheet with the delivered configuration, not dimensions borrowed from another RZR.
